The airframe

Two cuts, 5.28 metres shorter, and the fin to match.

The fuselage is the Laminar A330-300 shortened in two places: one section ahead of the wing and one behind. Windows, antennas, probes and lights sit at their −200 positions, and the taller, wider −200 fin is in both the model and the flight model.

Powerplants

Three engines. One comes in the box.

Pick the engine from the Plugins menu, or let the livery pick it: a folder name containing RR, GE or PW switches the engine model and the MCDU status page. All three shake as they spool up, flex with the wing and show inlet mist at take-off on very humid days.

The SWISS and Air France liveries are set up for the PW and GE engines, which need Carda's mods and the Windows plugin. Without them they fly on the Trent 700. Virgin Australia uses the included Trent 700.

Before you fly

Installs over the default A330 in three steps.

Install

  1. Duplicate the default Airbus A330-300 folder, move the copy to X-Plane 12/Aircraft and rename it Airbus A330-200.
  2. Copy the contents of the zip's Calibra A330-200 folder into that copy and overwrite when asked.
  3. Load the aircraft. The default A330-300 is not changed.

Requirements

  • SimulatorX-Plane 12 with the default A330-300 installed. Tested on X-Plane 12.4.3 and 12.4.4. Compatibility with other versions is not guaranteed.
  • AircraftWindows, macOS and Linux. On macOS and Linux: Trent 700 only, without the plugin functions.
  • PluginWindows only. SimBrief in the MCDU and the GE and PW engine switch.
  • SimBriefFree account and Pilot ID, for the MCDU functions.
